Walk Through videos Hotels and Restaurants

Video Camera IconChateau d'Esparron, set on the edge of a charming lake in Haute Provence, France, makes a wonderful subject for "walkthru" videos with its age, texture, ambience and history.

I have divided up the videos into 3 sets. The first is the "Welcome" introduction to the Chateau. The next is devoted to showing the rooms and suites. The last dedicated to the new apartment. All the sound is recorded separately and added back in later. The sound is such an important part of the experience of this fabulous structure with its history spanning so many generations and eras that I have introduced them as they exist. The intention is to replicate as much as possible your own experience of exploring the chateau, something that this type of video achieves far more effectively than still photographs.

This 13th & 18th century chateau that is set on the edge of a lake, has been lovingly restored by the resident owners as an upscale bed & breakfast. It has a period ambiance of somewhere from 1920 to 1950 with antiques, classical furnishings but modern bathrooms with a traditional look. The halls echo with hundreds of years of family, history, rising and falling fortunes. It is truly a slice of traditional French country life that has largely disappeared.

This video aims at capturing the country ambience of the chateau, the textures, the sounds of the country and life in an ancient country village. This is the introduction. The rooms and suites are covered in the next video and their self catering apartment in the last of the set of 3 videos.

This is the first floor of 3 rooms and suites. The 2nd floor is similar but each room is furnished in its own style and colors. My approach is the same however.

In 2012, the owners, the Marquis de Castellane (he preferes to be called simply "Bernard") and his charming Scottish wife Charlotte Anne created a new apartment with a bedroom, bath, sitting room and kitchenette as well as an entire 2 story floor of the 13th century tower which has open window emplacements once used for both light, air and defense. This becomes a sort of indoor/outdoor protected lounging, reading, afternoon tea area complete with hammock.
